Head of Payment Innovation, Retail and Payments

Minimum qualifications:

- 10 years of experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, or Finance
- Ability to speak and write in English and another APAC language (i.e. Mandarin) fluently

Preferred qualifications:

- MBA degree
- Experience with team management
- Understanding of payments ecosystem and trends
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple complex projects with various deadlines and executive cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

The mission of the Retail and Payments Activation team is to make it easier for users to pay on Google Play by growing our payments coverage, bringing Google Play to life at retail, and ensuring user trust and safety. You’ll be part of a team that focuses on delivering a flawless physical and digital product at global scale, helping to ensure that consumers have an easy, flexible way to pay for the content they enjoy.

In this role, you will oversee strategic initiatives including surfacing/operationalizing payment trends into the business, overseeing the overarching partner investment strategy and the Greater China payments activation strategy. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams both regional and global.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. **Responsibilities**:

- Drive payments innovation in APAC by developing and executing on strategic alliances with stakeholders across Payments, Android, and Global Business Organization (GBO)
- Collaborate closely with teams and cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance, Marketing, Go-To-Market, etc.
- Manage the retail and payments business for Greater China covering various forms of payments
- Lead our third-party partnership (Partner Promotions) strategy with carriers and other payment partners, from opportunity prioritization to innovation, and execution.
- Lead APAC-wide initiatives and projects that drive industry engagement, including leading executive partner engagement forums, industry events, etc.
