**What the role is**
- As a Community Volunteer Officer (CVO) in the Community Partnership Department, you are responsible for management of the Citizens on Patrol (COP) volunteer scheme for SPF. This position help build a more effective and impactful Citizens on Patrol (COP) volunteer scheme for SPF by creating change at the organisational level (i.e., organisational practices, policies and technology) in the aspect of volunteer management.
**What you will be working on**
- We want a creative and driven individual who can work well under pressure to be part of our team. The work that you will be involved in includes the following:
1. Drive the development and manage the implementation of volunteer schemes for SPF, with specific focus on Citizens on Patrol (COP) scheme:
- Review and propose recommendations for improvement to the scheme to ensure it remains effective and aligned to SPF’s mission; and
- Collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data for impact reporting
2. Collaborate and influence key stakeholders (internal and external) to create and implement pilot strategies and initiatives, to increase and enhance volunteer management practices in SPF.
3. Engage and work collaboratively with the Community Policing Unit (CPU) at the Neighbourhood Police Centres (NPC) to ensure the smooth running of the COP scheme
4. Drive the public engagement process and implement various publicity and marketing efforts to reach out to potential and existing volunteers
5. Perform Secretariat function for key meetings
6. Perform secondary role as the training co-ordinator for the Dept
**What we are looking for**
- Background in and passion for community service, programme coordination and curation, training and partnership management
- Competencies and skills in designing volunteer engagement programmes
- Keen learner who possesses the can-do spirit to try new and creative ways to engage volunteers.
- Possesses excellent communication (writing and presentation) skills
- Diplomatic and politically/culturally sensitive as the role requires officer to deal with a diverse group of volunteers
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates ability to establish strong relationships within the SPF as well as other agencies and key stakeholders
- Resourceful and able to think out of the box to find solutions when facing constraints from internal and/or external factors
- Meticulous planning skills, and the ability to analyse issues with clarity and present balanced, strong argument.
- Preferably 3 years of relevant work experience with background in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline
About CPD
Community Partnership Department (CPD) in SPF spearheads SPF’s community engagement policies, strategies and capability building and to realise the Community Engagement (CE) Masterplan. The Volunteer Management Branch in CPD oversees the spectrum of volunteer schemes in SPF by providing guidance on the policy and framework for the volunteer schemes.
