**Job Description**:
KARANA is ready for a new talented Product Developer. This person would have the opportunity to work closely with top industry talent while owning the product development pipeline. There is a lot of opportunity to grow and scale with the team if you are the right fit and Series A funding is secured.
- You will work directly with the Chief Science Officer, the Associate Product Manager (based in Singapore) and a key advisor who is a leading industry expert in product development of frozen Asian cuisine products. This scrappy and critical role will require a self-starter who can take projects from start to finish by working with relevant stakeholders and pushing things forward to meet B2B customer deadlines, all the while delivering continuous feedback and insights to the company._

**Responsibilities**:

- Ideate, conceptualize and prototype new products and improve existing products from benchtop to fully scaled industrial production;
- Implement product trials for potential B2B customers to desired specifications, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes;
- Oversee production trials at our copackers and coach their staff to understand product and process characteristics and ensure that our SOPs are implemented correctly;
- Evaluate the outcomes of product trials and develop the next product iterations based on findings;
- Identify promising new raw materials for continuous product improvement;
- Own all necessary project management associated with product trials and development;
- Develop systems and process along the way that make the KARANA team more effective and efficient;
- Manage and support the growth of the Associate Product Manager based in Singapore;
- Manage relationships between the product development team, the sales team, relevant advisors and any other stakeholders, ensuring proper communication and mutual understanding is achieved across all functions;
- Support our amazing industry expert product development advisor with food prep and the nitty gritty of product trials in the lab.

**Qualifications**:
**Recommended Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Process Engineering or similar
- 3-5 years of experience in product development and/or process development for food processing
- Prior experience owning a product roadmap
- Process know-how and knowledge of available equipment at industrial scale in the production of meat products or savoury foods is a strong plus
- Cross-functional, collaborative work across teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience working at a start-up is preferred
