**JOB PURPOSE**
- Act as the leather expert and resolve technical issues related to leather while in production.
- Manage the NPD team while working on new finishes to support company’s continuous growth & development and enhance company’s market position.
- Adjust our recipes to leather and chemical regulation and make sure Heng Long’s leather is REACH compliant.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
**R&D**
- Provide assistance to production team when they are facing quality issues during process from tanning to finishing.
- Work closely with quality team during root cause analysis and action plan elaboration when facing quality issues during production or through customers’ returns.
- Liaise with chemical companies or consultants with regards to new developments.
- Research and develop new tannage or finishing process / technology.
- Manage and develop the R&D team.

**NPD**
- Manage NPD team and make sure they are understanding our customers’ needs. Make sure they provide new finishes adapted to each customers.
- Secure the industrialization of our new products thanks to a tight collaboration with production and quality teams.
- Coordinate new colors and new articles every year for the leather fair.
- Manage and develop the NPD team.

**Health & Safety**
- Provide subordinates with instructions regarding safe work procedures.
- Correct work site conditions, which are liable to cause or have caused accidents.

**JOB REQUIREMENT**
- Bachelor’s Degree in leather making with at least 10 years in similar position.
- A highly proactive and analytical individual with excellent problem-solving and creative thinking.
- Sensitivity to the fashion world is a plus.
- Efficient in planning, time managing and multi-tasking.
- Systematic in documentation.
- Strong communications skills internally (other departments) and externally (headquarters and brands).
- True interest in managing teams with different profiles and nationalities. Eager to develop them and make them grow.
