Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and innovative R&D Manager to lead our product development and innovation initiatives. You will oversee the entire R&D process—from idea generation and prototyping to product launch—while ensuring alignment with market trends, business goals, and regulatory standards.

As an R&D Manager, you'll manage a team of technologists and collaborate closely with marketing, production, procurement, and quality teams to create consumer-focused, scalable, and cost-effective food and beverage products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the R&D team in the development of new food and beverage products, from concept to commercialization
  • Improve existing formulations to enhance quality, cost-efficiency, shelf life, and sustainability
  • Identify and analyze food trends, customer insights, and competitor products to drive innovation
  • Oversee product testing, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and pilot trials
  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with food safety, labeling, and regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, SFA, ISO, FSSC)
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to scale up new products efficiently
  • Manage R&D documentation, including formulations, SOPs, and trial reports
  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets for R&D activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, labs, and research institutions
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team
Requirements
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food product development or R&D, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Proven track record of successful product launches or innovations in food and beverage
  • Strong knowledge of food processing, ingredient functionality, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with lab testing, pilot trials, and production scale-ups
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
