Business Overview:
The Fixed Income/ FX trading team manages execution risk in BlackRock’s cash and derivative trades on behalf of global investment groups like Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Equity, iShares & Indexing, Alternatives, etc. who invest across different strategies such as long only funds, actively managed, passive, hedge funds, ETFs, Index funds, etc. The breadth of markets and products covered by the team is wide as it encompasses all Asian EM and DM markets across different asset classes. The trader will be responsible for APAC Fixed Income/ FX trading and related activities on the desk.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the execution of orders and trade flow in a logical and risk-controlled manner with a focus on fiduciary responsibilities.
- Pro-actively contribute to the investment process to both reduce transaction costs and identify alpha opportunities, while enhancing our access to market liquidity.
- Support investment teams in terms of information flow, trade ideas and data requests.
- Provide ‘best execution’ across a range of FX and Rates instruments for all BlackRock’s internal businesses.
- Monitor market activity in areas of specialization and provide feedback to portfolio managers.
- Deal with day-to-day administrative issues in support of trading activities and liaison with trading operations.
- Work with internal technology and analytics groups for enhancements in systems, analytics and coordinate trading activity.

Skills/Qualifications:

- 7+ years of experience in a relevant role.
- Strong understanding of the asset management business and the investment management process.
- Understanding of bond mathematics, basics of FX and rates derivatives, macro risk factors and implications for risk management.
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated the ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic and positive approach to market challenges.
- Excellent analytical skills applied in a practical environment.
- Well organized, disciplined approach to work with a high level of attention to detail.
- Highly computer literate, with advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Strong work ethic with high level of self-motivation.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Beginning in September, all employees will shift to at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
