**Employment Type**:2 years renewable contract.

**Salary Range**:$2000 - $2600

**The Singapore Scout Association (SSA)**

The Singapore Scout Association is a non-discriminatory youth movement established in 1910 dedicated to the development and enablement of young people in Singapore to become responsible and active citizens. Through the Mission of educating young people on a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, Scouts help to build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Conduct Scout programmes at grassroots level; Schools and Community Scouting.
- Directly involved with programme planning, preparations and delivery, development of resources and coaching/mentoring volunteers to effectively manage and conduct the Scouting Programme.
- Liaise with relevant authorities in schools and community partners for opportunities to engage the youths under your charge and promote the Scouting programme.
- Plan and implement programmes and camps for youths to develop their skills and instil good character values.
- Track and monitor the progress of the youths under your charge and keep relevant partners updated when necessary.
- Ensure all relevant reports, financial statements, claims, expenditure, and payments are accounted for and duly submitted to partners/ funders/ finance/ supervisor.
- As part of a team, represent the SSA at meetings with our external partners and government agencies, work closely with other departments in the Association, providing consultation and recommendations on grassroots’ needs and expectations.
- Undergo relevant training to update and develop professional skills.
- Develop, manage and implement any projects/ duties assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

**Characteristics & Requirements**
- Passionate about planning and conducting programmes for young children and youth.
- Cares about the values development of our young.
- Enjoys the outdoors and outdoor activities; such as camping, hiking, cycling, etc.
- Preferably has at least several years of experience in managing youth programmes and groups such as Scout programme and units, or its equivalent.
- Has good interpersonal and communication skills and is a team player.
- Has Certification in the area of youth work, training, counselling, programme development or Wood Badge or its equivalent will be advantageous.
- Has a diploma or degree in any discipline, qualifications in Outdoor Education or Social Work an advantage.
