Geo is the tip of the spear for technological innovation at Grab. Grab is South East Asia’s Super App. We are looking for a Senior Program Management Leader that is excited to take Grab to the next level and shape the future of Maps and what our consumers, driver-partners, merchants, and businesses are able to unlock with our technologies.
Our production scale is massive. We process thousands of bookings a day and regularly see hundreds of millions of traffic data per month. When you push out new code tons of people will see what you made within seconds. Operating on this level is hard but incredibly rewarding.
As a leader in an exciting and fast-paced industry that is evolving daily, you will specialize in handling unique and exciting programs on world-class technologies that bring our unique On-Demand Transport, Deliveries, and Logistics experience to millions of people, anytime and anywhere. In addition, you get to play a critical role in helping Grab grow our B2B business as part of our GEO team.
**Get to Know the Role**:
- As part of growth in the region, we are looking for a seasoned Lead Program Manager to work closely with our Product Operations and Product Management team. You will work with the team to streamline strategic initiatives, improve operational and administrative processes and oversee some of our ongoing strategic cross-functional projects.
- This Lead Program Management Leader reports directly to the Head of Program Management for GEO.
- Help lead and develop a growing team of Regional Program Managers focused on building Maps for Grab.
- Leverage your technical expertise in Mapping to provide technical and strategic advisory roles to the team and help shape the strategies to help us execute and scale our POI collection with velocity.
- Critical stakeholder in the team to lead and initiate crucial projects to help scale our GEO business (e.g. crowdsourcing, imagery, identify and revamp our POI workflows and drive greater automation etc).
- Lead a team of Program Managers on POI creation leveraging crowdsourcing, imagery, source data and driving experimentation of other collection methods while managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.
- The role holder will also drive synergy and identify new opportunities to make Grab Geo products at a higher quality and more efficiently, leveraging internal capabilities and/or external engagements.
**The Day-to-Day Activities**:
- Identify strategic project priorities, core issues, and problem-solving.
- Develop a strategic framework to analyze business problems, develop hypotheses, mine data, deliver recommendations, and orchestrate solutions.
- Monitor, measure and communicate project progress, critical performance metrics, potential risks/delays and team performance to program teams, executives and other sponsors.
- Formulate insights through analysis & present recommendations to help leadership's decision making.
- Work with external stakeholders, vendors and partners for successful completion of projects
- Help leadership with Strategic Planning Initiatives, Business Review Sessions, Operational Support for SEA Product Strategy and Operations Team involving planning, organizing and coordinating with business leaders on crafting agenda, consolidate content, facilitate the meetings and follow up actions items.
- Proactively identify issues, areas of enhancements that provide value-added insights and lead/implement strategic initiatives.
- Managing end-to-end life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement internal operational processes to drive standardization across the multiple teams.
**The Must-Haves**:
- Self starter with entrepreneurial instinct
- At least 10 years of overall experience as a program manager with a tech software company
- Minimum of 5 years experience in project management (PMP, Lean Six Sigma certified would be preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Geo related issues faced by any logistics or ride-hailing companies
- Have in-depth knowledge about POIs and other map layers
- Proficient in Tableau + basic SQL.
- Quantitative discipline with strong business sense and ability to articulate complex analyses to a wide range of audiences, and translating these into actionable business activity.
- Strategic thinker, able to prioritize objectives according to business value and impact, and able to balance long-term vision with short and medium-term goals
