Senior Manager or General Manager – Equipment Management
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global container liner company, for the position of Manager Equipment Manager OR General Manager - Equipment Management based in Singapore.

Job purpose:
Reporting to the Global Director of Equipment Management, the purpose of this role is to lead a team to execute effective container logistics control, including but not limited to container supply & demand planning, container steering programs, repositioning management, vendor management, EMS, and D&D management.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Container Control Aspect
Container Fleet Management including On / Offhire planning and execution.
Container procurement and sale activities.
Container demand/supply planning & flow management.
Container operations activities including sub-lease / one-way / interchange, etc.
Inventory management.
Empty container repositioning management.
Budget & cost management.
Other equipment management related tasks as assigned by management.
Detention & Demurrage (D&D)
Liaise with local offices to ensure detention & demurrage charges are collected.
Reconciliation of detention & demurrage amounts.
Handling & processing of detention disputes / waiver requests.
Other related tasks & reports.
Equipment Management System (EMS)
Ensuring container movement / status data integrity in EMS.
Errors identification, correction & updating.
Maintaining and executing container disposal through EMS.
Other related tasks & reports.
Key interactions (Internal | External):
External: Overseas Agencies | Container Suppliers | Depots | Terminals | Container Buyers
Education requirements:
Graduate/Master's level education, good computer skills (shipping software, EBMS, Tally, finance module, related logistics/shipping/marine certification, MS Office - Excel). Other languages are an asset.
Background and experience:
Minimum 5 years managerial experience in container control within an international container shipping company.

Good team player but also able to work independently.
Strong planning and execution capabilities.
Time management & organizational skills.
Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills under pressure and tight deadlines.
Team management and leadership qualities.
