**What the role is**
- Overseeing all legal aspects of the disciplinary processes under the purview of the Professionals Boards (“PBs”)* within the Secretariat of healthcare Professional Boards (“SPB”) umbrella, including the proper review and investigation of complaints, and the timely and fair prosecution of respondent healthcare professionals, including: o Supervising the conduct of prosecutions by external law firms before the various disciplinary committees, tribunals and the courts (e.g. reviewing of charges, submissions, and litigation strategy); and o Personally conducting prosecutions on behalf of the Singapore Medical Council (“SMC”) in cases which have been referred to a Disciplinary Tribunal (“DT”) under the Medical Registration Act, as well as appeals and/or judicial review proceedings in respect of a decision of the DT or a disciplinary committee constituted under the MRA - Rendering legal advice to the various PBs and SPB Divisions on matters pertaining to professional conduct and ethics, registration, accreditation, surveillance, investigation, procurement, legislation, policies, and corporate communications - Working closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure that policies and practices are consistent with the ministry’s objectives - Conducting training sessions or workshops for members of the various healthcare professions on healthcare-related legal issues - Supervising the work of the legal officers in the SPB Legal Division
- The Professional Boards comprise the Singapore Medical Council, the Singapore Dental Council, the Singapore Pharmacy Council, the Singapore Nursing Board, the Allied Health Professionals Council, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board, and the Optometrists and Opticians Board

**What you will be working on**

**What we are looking for**
- LL.B. from the National University of Singapore or Singapore Management University, or an overseas scheduled university and called to the Singapore Bar - At least 15 years’ PQE in the public service or private sector - Excellent oral presentation/advocacy, legal research and writing skills - Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders - Ability to manage tight timelines and multiple assignments - Motivated, able to work well both independently and as well as in teams - Established track record of supervising and/or leading teams - Significant prosecutorial/criminal litigation experience is required
