The Director of Materials Management is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all facets of a comprehensive supply chain program. This includes negotiating and contracting for the procurement of materials, supplies, services, and equipment; receiving, storing, and distributing of supplies. Lead and manage activities related to production control, master scheduling, purchasing and shipping/receiving.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
- Develop performance measurement systems including key performance indicators to drive excellence in materials management.
- Set up consignment contracts and manage inventory levels in quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
- Develop material schedules and plan requirements for purchasing materials, using MRP and other planning systems.
- Work closely with customers and other UCT sites to transition materials for new products.
- Work closely with internal groups, including engineering, quality, and sales to ensure functional specifications are met, parts are available as needed, and product quality is maintained.
- Select, develop, and evaluate managers and individual contributors.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and develop a strong team.
- Some domestic and international travel

**Educational/Certification Requirement**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- APICS/CPIM certification preferred

**Experience Requirement**:

- 7+ experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment with a broad knowledge of materials, purchasing, production control methods, manufacturing methods and techniques.
- Experience in gas delivery components/sheet metal parts preferred.
- Proven strong team building and employee development experience.
- Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
