- Risk management on Government-related policy and regulations
- Provide guidance on assessing the potential impact if SEAO Gov’t implement these policies or regulationso Work with Subsidiary GR members on pre-emptive risk management (PRM) plans on such policies or regulations
- Organize and where required lead the advocacy action in the PRM plan
- Where non-compliance risk event occurs, support Subsdiary GR members to develop and execute risk management plan
- Business-to-Gov't (B2G) business development
- Monitor and track national development plans, national digital development plans, annual expenditure plans to identify priority Gov’t sectors (ex. Healthcare, education, Gov’t services, field work, etc), target officials and B2G business development plans
- Work with Subsidiary GR members to execute B2G business development plans on priority Gov’t sectors
- Organize and where required lead the actions ex. Speaking, Workshops, F2F meetings with senior officials, national partners in the B2G business development plan
- Support Subsidiary GR members with resources ex. HQ / global technical advice or best practice, Samsung Research, B2B team, newsletters, event sponsorship, etc
- Engagement of multi-lateral development organizations (MDOs)
- For advocacy and Gov’t business projects, MDOs provide neutral, trusted thought leadership, advocacy and funding support
- Actively develop multi-country program opportunities with MDOs ex. TVET, education, aid disbursement, etc that are aligned with PRM advocacy or B2G business development objectives
- Operations
- Communicate to government stakeholders, organize opportunities (whether social or working functions) for key government officials to meet Samsung executives
- Develop SEAO Government Relations practice (benchmarks, case studies, annual evaluation, etc) with monthly calls, dashboard update, reporting to RHQ top management
- Other additional duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
- Compliance
- Samsung expects that the role will at all times comply with the law in the jurisdiction where the RHQ operates in the conduct of GR duties, including all applicable anti-corruption law.
- This involves: performing all duties in a lawful manner where appropriate, satisfactorily completing relevant compliance training; and, reporting and escalating compliance concerns, issues and failures in accordance with local jurisdiction’s policies.
- Adhere at all times to company policies and procedures in the completion of required duties.
- Job Requirements
- Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline: Engineering or IT, Social Sciences, Public/International affairs, Communication, Legal.
- Experience
- At least 5 years' of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience
- Experience working in/with government at the departmental and/or political level
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including speaking before an audience
- B2G business development skill
- Knowledge of public policy issues relevant to Samsung business interests
- Excellent critical/analytical and research skills for policy or Gov't technology
- Networking and negotiation skills

Skills and Qualifications
- Experienced professional with full understanding on specialized areas; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analyzing data requires evaluating identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments
