The Regional Medical I&I Lead - Inflammation and Immunology
- reports to the Emerging Market I&I Medical Category Lead, and collaborates closely with regional business unit members. He or she is responsible for providing Medical (I&I portfolio) expertise to the region and is responsible for developing and executing the Emerging Asia (EM Asia) I&I vision and strategy in alignment with the cross functional partners and greater EM Asia medical community.

S/he Interacts actively with peers across functions in the region, and serves as the key medical interface for the region between country and global organizations while representing the region in global forums.

The Regional Medical I&I lead provides the medical and scientific input into the EM Asia I&I Commercial Strategy, collaborates and partners closely with the EM Asia I&I Marketing lead (RTAL) to ensure there is successful implementation of the commercial strategy, clinical research (clinical site selection inputs, and country prioritization), new product planning, launch execution, inline growth and management of tail products.

In partnership with other members of the EM Asia I&I Team, He/she will develop strategic partnerships with key clinical and other stakeholders; develop strategies aligned to customer needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and work with country and regional colleagues to ensure there is a robust Real World Data program. The Regional Medical I&I lead will also focus on ensuring excellence with respect to medical quality and compliance as well as professional external relations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for the creation and implementation of regional medical/commercial strategy/plans for products in the Inflammation portfolio across the region
- Ensure close communication with the Regional Medical Directors and when required giving consultancy for medical projects.
- Actively participate at extended Regional Medical LT meetings and initiate continuous idea exchange with country medical directors.
- Actively participate within the Medical Affairs Subcommittees (MSC), Publication Subcommittees (PSC), representing the region for in line portfolio
- Actively participate within the Regional Team in the development and implementation of brand strategies across the region and support the development and delivery of Product Platform, Regional Brand Plans, and other Operating Plan deliverables
- Train and develop the country medical colleagues for the I & I Therapeutic Area to advance their knowledge and experience as well as enhance medical affairs skills
- Provide medical inputs and approvals in the development of promotional materials, in keeping with regional team priorities and timelines, approving CEPs,
- Facilitate robust data gap analysis workstreams across the countries and region and develop a data generation roadmap for products
- Participate in the implementation of global/regional clinical trials conducted in the region, in liaison with the Development Operations organization
- Gather, evaluate, and act on medical intelligence from countries, review Medic DFOs and prepare reports to shape strategies
- Provide regional input in the evaluation of new products, line extensions and licensing opportunities related to the therapeutic area, be a partner to regulatory affairs
- Work closely to create a "community of medical" with the medical managers in the countries responsible for the Inflammation portfolio to ensure medical excellence in the therapeutic area and bidirectional communication of information.
- Identify, initiate and execute regional opportunities for growth and improved efficiencies through the spread of best practices and other initiatives within the region.
- Responsible for Regional Budget and supervise country budgets in close relationship with regional medical director - partner with finance on budget planning and management.
- Facilitate country medical interactions with local regulatory authorities and KOLs, as needed.
- Drive regional performance through development & execution of customer strategies aligned with brand strategies and manage & measure investment/returns as appropriate.
- Ensure collaboration/alignment across brands for performance of portfolio & bring experience to bear on major business challenges
