**Role purpose**:
Working alongside the Key Account Managers, contribute day to day specialist knowledge within their discipline and / or lead projects which provide commercially focused support and/ or service delivery to internal and/ or external Key Accounts. Providing a professional client focussed service that puts clients at the forefront of everything we do.
To determine solutions for client problems and queries within their discipline where the parameters are not well defined and where previous experience does not provide any precedent.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support Key Accounts by providing technical advice, clarification of requirements in classification and statutory matters
- Support the Key Account Managers by providing technical advice to their client queries, liaise with various maritime teams for timely response to the technical queries and issues
- Liaise with the Classification Executive and Flag in relation to survey postponements, extensions, dispensations and exemptions
- Remain up to date with regulatory and technology updates and provide these updates to Key Accounts, in coordination with other LR departments and specialists, where required
- Maintain surveyor authorizations and remain fully knowledgeable about the technical considerations that are pertinent to clients
- To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate
- To build and maintain effective relationships with service delivery and service delivery support to share data, maximise operational efficiencies and ensure prompt resolution of issues when they arise
- To make recommendations based on internal/ external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditations scheme, legislation and industry standards and pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness
- To provide the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format to take responsibility to work with and support / review teams work as appropriate
**Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements**:
- A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by LR within the field of engineering or physical science (min 2-year programme) or qualification from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certified ships officer
- Membership of an appropriate profession institution
- Strong communications skills, able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across all teams and levels within a matrix organisation
- Demonstrable experience in providing a high standard of professional client care; able to liaise with clients at all levels both internally and externally
- Detailed focussed, ability to drive delivery as a solo contributor but also as part of a team; ability to work collaboratively
- Wide and detailed knowledge and understanding of the Maritime business
- Experience of assess and interpreting data and information to gain insights into the client requirements
