This role will primarily be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Involved in business partnering to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the agency.
- Monitor and control Agents in meeting key financial KPIs.
- Responsible for setting policy and procedures for the agencies and ensuring reliable, accessible, accurate financial information submitted by the agencies.
- Ensures that cost incurred on behalf of the principal is correct.
- Focus on accounts receivables and payables at the group and agency level, on local revenue collections and cost reporting and on remittances to Head Office.
- Ensures compliance to Head Office policy and procedures.
- Bring best practice to all agencies, set benchmarks and support the existing Finance Managers to improve their performance and improve communication to HQ.
- Improve trust at Principal level.
- Provide leadership and guidance on tax planning and tax issues for agents.
- Lead the development of new system implementation.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Accounting /CPA /Chartered Accountant qualification
- Ideally 15 years or so of relevant experience in liner shipping and/or shipping agency business
- Possess full end-to-end finance knowledge, preferably with shipping agencies, well versed in ERP so as to address the ERP (GFS) from finance and control perspectives
- Possess good communication and presentation skills
- Possess a good understanding of accounting, financial, internal control, tax issues facing shipping agencies
- Ability to design effective policies and procedures for shipping agencies and ensure compliance
- Possess a sense of responsibilities and ownership of issues facing the shipping agencies
- Possess a good understanding of the objectives of liner business and how these objectives translate into KPIs for the shipping agencies
