A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting literature review
- Carrying out device fabrication related activities assigned by Principal Investigator (PI)
- Disseminating the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed journals
- Perform simulation for device optimization
- Modelling and simulation of light matter interaction
- Micro-nano fabrication using cleanroom processes
- Nanophotonic/metamaterial device design and fabrication
- Make regular progress report to PI.

**Job Requirements**
- Must have Ph.D. in Applied Physics, or stream associated with applied optics and photonics
- Experience in modelling and fabrication of nanophotonics and metamaterials based tunable optical devices
- Understanding of fundamental principles photonic devices and systems
- Experience in using FDTD, MATLAB, and COMSOL multiphysics software platforms
- Experience in sputtering, UV lithography, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Profilometry
- Actively involved in simulation and fabrication of nanophotonics based all-silicon waveguiding devices, that have great potential for information and communication technologies, terahertz integrated circuits, and interconnects for intra-chip and inter-chip communication
