**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Hummingbird Bioscience is seeking an Intern, Upstream Process Development to build technical capabilities for our robust pipeline and growing projects. The intern will learn skills associated with antibody drug development, both in terms of cell line development workflows and process development.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform aseptic handling in a biosafety cabinet (BSC)
- Perform cell culture in shake flasks and bioreactor handling on a routine basis
- Perform cell culture analysis with manual or automated cell counting methods, and metabolite analysers on a routine basis
- Support pilot scale processing of single use bioreactor systems including depth filtration harvest
- Support in data analysis, and technical documentation writing
- Able to record data accurately, legibly and in a timely fashion
- Analyse and present information using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and perform under pressure
- On-the-job training will be provided as necessary

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering program
- Competency in suspension cell culture and aseptic techniques preferred
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- A basic understanding of cell biology, biologics manufacturing and process development
- Willingness to carry out hands-on activities
