**The Opportunity**
As the Director Medical Affairs APAC, J&J Vision, your role will be to direct the operational function of medical affairs in the region to achieve key regional and organizational objectives. You will represent the regional voice of medical affairs and direct medical strategy aligned to commercial objectives. A key part of your role will be to support regional product launches and in-market products through KOL engagement, advisory boards, and execution of evidence generation and data dissemination strategies including post-market studies, scientific podium and publications, independent medical educational events. You will also work with Medical Safety and other cross-functional partners to support safe and effective product use and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. **Responsibilities**
- Directs the regional operational function of medical affairs aligned to regional business and evidence generation/dissemination strategies
- Provides strategic feedback into post-market research study protocols for specific projects promoting company message and value
- Engages KOLs regionally through Ad Boards, conferences, other venues aligned with regional KOL management and development strategies
- Serves as member of the APAC Leadership Team, driving clinical/medical perspective into strategic dialogue
- Supports regional product launches and training as well as implementation of the Post-Market Safety Surveillance Program in collaboration with the Medical Safety organization
- Builds Medical Affairs capability in region and implements plans for continuous improvement to create an environment that encourages and recognizes creativity, innovation, teamwork, risk taking and empowerment
- Ensures collaborative working relationship between Medical Affairs and internal collaborators to deliver timely and expert support for product launches and in-market products
**Qualifications**:
- Fluent in English language
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline required. Advanced degree, including O.D., M.D., or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in ophthalmology or relevant related field required. At least 3-5 years of industry experience in R&D, Clinical/Medical Affairs and/or Professional Education required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced innovative environment
- 2+ years direct people leadership and people development experience
- Exposure with APAC markets preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships cross-functionally with key internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Very strong and demonstrable communication and influencing skills that can impact at a Regional and Global level
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with KOL’s/experts in the field
- Excellent knowledge of Ophthalmology/Optometry
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of post-market clinical studies to support in-market products
- Good knowledge of study execution, pharmacovigilance
- Sound knowledge of study publication processes and publications
- Highly customer and marketplace focused with a Big Picture orientation
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
- Up to 30% travel within the region
