Singapore BARKER ROAD METHODIST CHURCH Full time

The Pastoral Team Staff (Boys’ Brigade) is responsible for providing pastoral care, support and guidance to Boys of the 12 (Barker Road) Singapore Company, providing support in matters relating to the Company finance and administration, as well as assisting the Company Chaplain and working closely with the ministry leaders.

The role will require working on weekends.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Planning and Organising**:

- Assist in the organization of events such as the annual Enrolment Parade and Service, 12th Company BB Share-a-Gift Car Flag Off, annual mission trip and other group level ad-hoc activities.

**2. Spiritual Nurture (Feed, Train, Protect, Encourage)**:

- Equip Officers and Primers to lead small groups in the Company through formal and informal training.
- Nurture Officers and Primers by mentoring them, providing spiritual counselling to Officers/Primers, and to make referral to clinical counselling when needed.
- Develop and implement Christian Education curriculum, conduct Christian Education through weekly devotions, review the Christian Education syllabus over the year, and appoint and train officers to conduct Christian Education with the Pastoral Team Staff.
- Organise Character Quest training to prepare the 12 (Barker Road) Singapore Company Boys for the Character Quest competition.
- Develop and initiate areas of opportunities for 12 (Barker Road) Singapore Company Primers/Boys with the objective of church membership.

**3**. **Be the liaison between the Company and Church**:

- Coordinate with other church ministries on activities that involve the participation of the Boys from the 12 (Barker Road) Singapore Company.
- Arrange for Company event announcements, such as BB Week and 12th Company BB Share-a-Gift Car Flag Off, to be made during services.

**4.**Represent Company in Brigade Level Activities**:

- Represent the Company in events such as the BB Anchor Conference, Annual Officers’ Retreat, and Seniors Programme Conference.

**5.**Assist in the Company finance process and administration**:

- Work with ministry chairperson on budget and track ministry expenditure.
- Process finance forms for claims submission.
- Book premises for Company activities when required.

**6.**Any other additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or pastors in current ministry and/or other ministries, including but not limited to**:

- Serving as Service Pastoral Team Staff during church servicesServing in church events.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Theological Degree/Diploma in an accredited institution.

**RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSETS**:

- At least one year relevant experience of involvement/working with the Boys’ Brigade.
- Able to connect with Youth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently under mínimal supervision.
- Able to multi-task.
- An innovative team player, self-motivated and pro-active.
- The role will require the role-holder to be involved and comfortable in pastoral care, spiritual counselling/mentoring, development of Christian Education curriculum, leading of devotions.
