DESIGNATION : Manager, Venture Studio (1-Year Contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify via market mapping where the top talents are and educate them on the opportunities in the maritime arena
- Attract, assess and convert high calibre individuals to founders who has the potential to create disruptive new companies
- Run targeted campaigns to identify early-stage start-ups whose products and services could be a right fit for the maritime industry
- Operate as the first point of contact for all potential-founder questions
- Collaborate with Marketing on content creation and partnership opportunities
- Support our portfolio companies in their formation, marketing or product development activities
- Deliver the best possible sprint experience to founders, mentors, partners, investors and other stakeholders as measured by the studio KPI’s
- Manage the logistics for the program including sprint-days, investor meetups, pitch sessions and ensure that the founders, mentors, speakers, partners, and investors are fully informed about all steps in the program
- Manage networking events/programs to support founders in identifying potential clients and investors
- Develop relationships with support organizations, including government or educational departments, NGO’s & climate tech funds

Support the development of a strong pipeline of startups with diverse and talented founders

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you ?:
We are looking for a talented individual who has the drive to make a difference in how the maritime industry operates today. The studio will focus on building ventures and investing in start-ups who tackle climate change, supply chain efficiency and broader ESG topics. You will have to manage a wide range of stakeholders such as early-stage start-ups, new founders, investors and corporate partners to ensure the successful outcomes we set forth in the studio.

You need not have any prior experience in the maritime industry. Just a strong appetite for learning and an open mind to understand the nuances of working in an industry that facilitates world trade. You will also play a role in setting up the long-term strategy of the studio and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders across the industry.
- Experience as a program manager working with start-ups / corporate ventures / VC’s. We are also open to ex-founders or those who have worked in a start-up in a client facing role
- A strong understating of ESG topics and the climate tech landscape globally
- A natural people person with strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- High EQ which is essential in creating trust among partners and building key relationships quickly
- Comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment
- Familiarity with early-stage start-up investment cycles and some amount of fund-raising

OTHER INFORMATION

We are creating a maritime venture studio along with our partners to tackle some of the most challenging issues faced by shipping today. Hafnia & partners will provide early-stage start-ups as well as founders wishing to enter the maritime industry, with an initial investment, a place to work and access to a large network of companies and data to test their ideas and scale their dreams.

This role will be based in Singapore and offer the flexibility of working from home with occasional office visits and international travel. Initially the role will be on a direct contract with Hafnia with a strong possibility of conversion to a permanent role at the end of the contract.
