- About the role
- Are you ready to kickstart your career in the dynamic world of reinsurance? Join our Casualty & Financial Lines Department as an intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience with a global industry leader.
- The Casualty & Financial Lines team manages underwriting risks, issues endorsements and policy alterations, and oversees the renewal of reinsurance policies.
- As an intern, you’ll collaborate closely with senior underwriters, contributing to business development, portfolio growth, and profitability. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of facultative reinsurance and build a strong foundation in the industry.
- We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn, and is passionate about making an impact.
- Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior underwriters to learn how to analyze and price Financial Lines and Casualty exposures
- Accompany senior underwriters to meetings and discussions with business partners to strengthen Everest relationships and build a network
- Understand the contractual requirements that attach to Reinsurance policies
- Keep accurate submission, quotation, binding and declination data
- Input bound risks into the policy system
- Submit a live case study and present to senior leaders as part of your learning journey
- Desired Skills & Experience
- A levels, Diploma or Degree in any discipline
- Customer focus with the ability to think broadly
- Solve problems in a deliberate and thoughtful manner
- Work collaboratively with different teams and seniorities to achieve positive outcomes
- Meticulous and highly organized with the ability to prioritize work and timelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A good command of written and spoken English
