Job Summary

Acts in an actuarial capacity, performing duties which are of a mathematical and/or financial nature in order to provide highly accurate data and analyses for use by Actuaries in the evaluation of loss reserves or the pricing of business.

Job Qualifications

Required:

- Bachelors Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and No prior experience required in the Actuarial area

Preferred:

- Quantitative aptitude
- Ability to perform mathematical tasks
- Microsoft Office skills

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
- Evaluates loss reserve calculations under various bases.
- Develops of rates, rating plans, and pricing for portfolio management strategies.
- Conducts studies and other research activities.
- Prepare premium rate filings, schedules of statistics/statistical analyses, and financial statements.
- Perform experience investigations and data validation.
- Calculates statutory reserves and financial valuations.
- Where appropriate, provide product development and pricing support.
- Run and test pricing models.

Business Accountabilities
- Provide basic actuarial services in order to fulfill routine business requirements.
- Perform statistical analysis, model and analyze data and develop models/programs for model building and analyses; interpret results of models and analyses.
- Compile and categorize data, documents and verify factors and assumptions used in computations to ensure robust output.
- Perform actuarial analyses and reporting to support business production functions.
- Prepare premium rate filings, schedules of statistics/statistical analyses and financial statements and make recommendations in the preparation of reports.
- Participate in the evaluation and review of new/proposed processes and systems, make recommendations, where analysis is conducted to support the implementation of upgraded systems.
