**Purpose statement**:
The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator assist in the establishment, implementation and improvement of EHS programs, training, equipment, documentation and performs other tasks as requested by EHS Management to ensure compliance in the local IDT facility.
**Essential Functions**:
Assist in the establishment, implementation and improvement of the dynamic risk management system for safety and well-being at work:
Assist in the implementation of EHS Management System
Assist in development and maintenance of safety and emergency procedures;
Conduct site tours and assist in the follow-up of health and safety issues;
Assist in developing, scheduling and conducting safety trainings and maintain training records;
Assist in maintaining records including but not limited to chemical inventory, safety data sheets, health and safety key performance indicators;
Assist in risk analysis, monitoring and measuring programs;
Assist in equipment commissioning and safety instruction sheets;
Assist in management of change processes;
Assist in all tasks necessary to ensure compliance with the regulation regarding well-being at work.
Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents/accidents, perform root cause analysis and propose recommendations on correction and corrective actions to eliminate the identified root cause(s)
Participate and facilitate in Internal/External audits & regulatory visits.
Assist in keeping all work instructions, documents and logs current pertaining to processes, and initiate creation of additional documents when necessary.
Perform all the above in consultation and cooperation with other departments as necessary.
Assist in communication and building awareness of health, safety and environmental management.
Be a member of emergency response teams and take part in EHS meetings and committees as requested by EHS Management.
Assist with various EHS related tasks or perform other duties as specified by EHS management.
Report any problems to EHS management.
Treat information acquired during execution of job functions as strictly confidential.
Adhere to all company policies including those regarding security, passwords and confidentiality.
Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.
**Education**:
Diploma preferably in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent job experience.
Minimum WSQ advance certificate in WSH or Safety Coordinator training
**Professional Experience**:
Working knowledge of all local, state and federal regulatory requirements preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required.
Prior writing experience preferred.
Workers Compensation claims experience in a plus.
Knowledge of ISO Standards, ISO 14001 is a plus.
Other Job Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in time, organization, and project management.
Demonstrated ability to initiate action to resolve problems and improve processes.
Detailed knowledge of essential function and job duties assigned to other EHS positions.
Excellent communication skills / Ability to interact in a professional manner with public officials, employees and all levels of management.
Must have excellent computer skills which includes knowledge of the Internet and MS Office (e.g. word, excel, power point ).
Ability to maintain confidentiality on all issues related to the position.
Adaptability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or situation in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.
Proven experience working collaboratively across a global function as well as independently, making sound decisions with mínimal supervision.
Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers.
Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
Adaptability to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances or standards.
Adaptability to perform repetitive work or to perform continuously the same work, according to set procedures sequence or pace.
