Research Fellow

The Research Fellow will work on a project to 3D print and investigate the mechanics, microstructure and functional properties of metal alloys and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- To collaborate with researchers both locally and overseas to investigate properties of the additively manufactured materials- To assist in 3D printing of materials and characterize their properties and microstructures- To investigate the effect of processing parameters on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the additively manufactured parts- To formulate structure-property relationships- To write up reports and give presentations on findings
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related field- Knowledge in Mechanics of Materials, Metallurgy, Microstructural Characterization and/ or Additive Manufacturing- Proficiency in English (oral and written)- Familiarity with Metal microstructure characterization is an advantage- Familiarity with Failure of Metals is an advantage- Knowledge in Manufacturing Technologies is an advantage- Publication track record is an advantage- Self-motivated, independent and can work well in a team
