The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratories of Dr Cyrus Mostajeran (Mathematics) and Dr Endao Han (Physics) at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to research at the interface of geometry and biophysics.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Obtaining theoretical results at the interface of geometry and biophysics
Designing, implementing, and testing algorithms to model active matter
Engaging in scientific exchange with collaboration partners of the project
Preparing reports, scientific papers, and presentations
Job Requirements
PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a closely related field of engineering
Research experience in one or more of the following: biophysics, active matter, condensed matter physics, differential geometry
Evidence of potential for excellence in research
Enthusiasm for applying advanced mathematical tools and techniques to applications in biophysics
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience in the use of programming languages and interest in the implementation of algorithms relevant to the project
