**Your Role**
The Ciena Global Cloud Networking Sales Team is looking for a Technical Account Manager to support the account activities on the named North American GCN accounts in the Asia Pacific region. This role will work closely with the Senior Director Sales, Global Partner Solutions - Cloud Networking and the Global Client Executives to augment the day to day sales activities with the assigned customer. In addition, this person will support technical solution development for Hyperscaler Partner deals globally.
The ideal technical sales professional will work closely with the Global Client Executives and their technical leads supporting the named North American GCN accounts within region. Specific focus will be paid to supporting the technical engagements with localized architect, engineer and strategic negotiators of the named accounts. In addition to the direct account supporting role, the ideal individual will be required to scope, develop and evolve technical solutions to address the Hyperscaler Partner market. These solutions will used for all Hyperscaler Partners globally.
**Dimension & Scope**
- Establish and lead sales and business development strategy for identified opportunities within region.
- Lead effort to close identified opportunities.
- Overall responsibility and accountability for supporting sales in the assigned region
- Take direction from and execute on localized GCN North American named account priorities
- Develop and scope technical solutions for Hyperscaler Partner networks.
This position is based in Singapore. This position will require domestic and international travel to visit GCN customers in the APJ region and occasional travel to North America and/or Europe.
**Your Responsibilities**
- Strong technical background in optical networking to enable network design and costings.
- Build and implement an account plan in coordination with the Global Client Executives that best positions CIENA to maximize its revenue streams and margins in accordance with company expectations.
- Responsible to meet/exceed sales bookings, revenue, and margin targets.
- Participate in setting strategy and tactics for each specific sales objective.
- Work under the direction of the Senior Director Sales, Global Partner Solutions and in conjunction with Client Executives to execute on sales engagements / goals.
- Advocate on behalf of the accounts with internal Ciena organizations to obtain product features, delivery dates, and price levels required to drive winning customer solutions.
- Responsible for developing strong customer relationships into the targeted accounts.
- Use technical, business and other means to build barriers to entry for competition.
- Advanced knowledge of the competitive landscape and the business market.
- Overall responsibility for the sales process in region.
- Prioritize various sales opportunities.
- Responsible for developing and submitting status/progress and forecast reports as required.
- Work with extended CIENA team, including executive team, product marketing, product management, and sales operations to achieve sales and revenue objectives.
- Learn and maintain technical understanding of Ciena products, especially the 6500 RLS, Waveserver and COM product family.
- Responsible for direct sales activities requiring product presentations at all levels of management
- Load Sales Quotes on to Ciena BPQ tool as required.
**Minimum Requirement**
- Technical or Business Degree preferred or Relevant Equivalent work experience.
- Appropriate customer facing system sales, system engineering, network engineering or combination.
- Strong understanding of large account sales and ability to think strategically about new business opportunities. Ability to make sound judgments.
- Technical background in optical networking and ability to design optical networks.
- Strong business acumen and financial expertise
- Working knowledge of hyperscaler networks and network management systems.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Keen awareness of market intelligence with respect to competitors
