**Job Functions & Summary**:
Responsible for the overall drinks and service standards of the Club.

**Job Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for ordering, receiving, inventory, organizing and selling wine.
- Oversee all wine purchases and cost management and Wine Committee duties (minutes, wine of the month selection, introduction of new vendors, wineries, etc.)
- Assist members and guests during the dinner service with wine recommendations and selection for perfect pairing with their dinner, decanting of the wine and wine service
- Develop a training program for all Team Members to improve their knowledge of wine tasting and wine service
- Setting up, maintaining, and establishing physical placement of wine in cellars and cabinets in an organized and structured manner that is in coordination with the wine list.
- Regular maintenance and updating of wine list to reflect current products and vintages.
- Maintaining guest expectations and recommending wines accordingly to ensure guest satisfaction with regards to the wine and upkeep of the wine par levels.
- Responsible for the correct use and maintenance of glassware and other wine related equipment in the restaurant including but not limited to wine list covers, ice buckets, decanting equipment, specialty glassware, bar equipment, and other equipment.
- Any other duties that might be assigned from time to time.

**Requirements**:

- Experienced as a Sommelier, Wine Steward/Stewardess or similar role
- Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings
- Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
- Understanding of the winemaking process
- Good communication skills
- Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to meet with wine producers and visit wine-tasting events
- Certification as a Sommelier or degree in hospitality is a plus
