**Overview**

The Casual Video Technician (Theater) is responsible for providing support to the Performance Spaces in Singapore American School across a range of theatrical productions, during the rehearsals, run and post-production periods.

The role will require you to undertake bump ins, set up video projection & multi-screen systems, operate cameras for record and live contexts and operate video playback systems for one off events or during the run period of productions.

The role also provides support for the on-going maintenance of the Theater Department.

Post Production needs include editing raw footage and mixing with audio feed to produce final cuts of video to be released to Family members and staff of SAS. (must understand how to edit in Final Cut).

**Contract and hours of work**

Casual technicians are rostered on a _as needed basis _with a minimum 4 hour call.

This role will be paid at $12.50 per hour.

Shifts will vary. Examples are: morning shifts starting at 7:30am, day shifts for set ups/ maintenance and evening shifts for after school rehearsals and performances, shifts offered are completely dependant on the needs of the school and applicant will be informed of their shifts in good time.

**Requirements**:
**Skills**:

- General competencies in basic Lighting and Sound equipment to support presentations (or be willing to learn).
- Intermediate knowledge of the video mixing consoles with the ability to program and operate.
- Intermediate knowledge of installing and using Projectors and Lenses
- Experience in the use of video playback programs (Qlab required) and systems for live performance.
- Some knowledge of camera technology and camera operation.
- Knowledge of video signal types and formats.
- Knowledge in how to edit raw footage and mix with audio feed to produce final cuts of video to be released to Family members and staff of SAS.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to use Final Cut.
- Can lift 20kg unaided, can support theater staff when building set / setting up a stage.
- Ability and willingness to work safely at heights, Work at Height certificate.
- A high level of understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and procedures as related to the theater and entertainment industries.
- Perform other duties or appropriate requests as assigned by the Theater Coordinator.

- Support students and provide feedback to help them improve as technicians (through the support of the Theater Coordinator)

**Optional Qualifications**:

- Vertical upright platform lift license
- Diploma / qualification in Technical Theater
