Digital Media Lab Support Engineer

XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a passionate and highly energetic **Digital Media Lab Support Engineer **.

He/she will play an integral role as one of the foundation incumbents in the new Innovation Hub that will be opening soon and will be required to have an aligned mindset towards having a better future with technology and being able to support strategically in the space of Technology to contribute to the school's vision of becoming the School of Future.

The Garage is an experiential problem-solving learning zone that makes learning fun through hands-on activities to encourage creative problem-solving, deepen personal appreciation of technology, and promote digital literacy.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Set up, operate, and oversee equipment operations, manage equipment on loans and monitor booking and usage of resources.
- Oversee safety of the space, physically & digitally, by monitoring and promoting our “safe shared use” guidelines.
- Coach & train users on how to use the equipment and tools.
- Provide technical assistance as needed.
- Contribute to the development of creative technologically drive learning activities and programs.
- Resolves help tickets raised by the School community promptly; documents any relevant incidents.
- Promote a culture of safe, responsible, and legal use of technology.
- Works proactively to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Perform routine equipment checks to identify technical issues and do repairs to ensure the equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain an inventory of equipment, tools, and consumables, and order materials and supplies for robotics.
- Ensure eSports software delivery system, currently net boot of clients, remains up to date, efficient, & backed up.
- Liaise with vendors, and the school’s procurement specialist when needed, for faulty hardware unit repairs and replacements.
- Able to provide a “live stream” of Garage & eSports competitions as needed.
- Creates documentation (help sheets & videos) for our helpdesk knowledgebase.
- Involvement in whole school events and activities as required.
- Helps monitor ongoing systems health and maintenance.
- Performs basic ICT Department troubleshooting on as schedule permits.
- Research and test out new technologies, works collaboratively with ICT colleagues and performs other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

**Person Specifications**
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or other relevant qualification related to the role.
- Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a School environment or in roles specialising in digital, mechanical and technological roles.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server & Client operating systems.
- Flexible problem solver opens to new technologies who can work independently, as part of a team, and under time constraints in a dynamic environment.
- Positive and growth mindset with excellent customer service skills.
- A curiosity to learn our current setup and research and plan what comes next
- Relevant experience in providing IT Support.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Experience & interest in eSports or Gaming would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of MacOS and iOS would also be an advantage.
