The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) is embedded within the National University Hospital on the same campus, and provides tertiary and quaternary care to patients with the relevant conditions. Our programs constitute National and International Centres of Excellence, including:

- Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program
- Transcatheter, Endovascular and Hybrid Surgery program
- Uniport VATS and Thoracic Cancer Surgery program
- Aortic Surgery program
- An-aortic Coronary Artery Revascularisation program

The Clinical Associate would be part of the multidisciplinary team providing day-to-day patient care in adult cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, involved in both outpatient and inpatient areas, assisting in invasive and non-invasive investigations or procedures. The Clinical Associate would also be assisting in all aspects of pre-operative, operative and post-operative patient care in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery including assistance in clinics, operating theatres, intensive care units, day-to-day ward rounds and on call duties.

Our weekly schedule entails hands-on surgeries of all types, educational events, patient presentations and post-operative debriefs, mortality and morbidity meetings and a rich variety of planned or ad hoc educational events. Furthermore, our Simulation program and syllabus trains the Resident Physician along a faster learning curve to acquire the necessary skills for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.
