Project Title

Controls and Preventive Maintenance (PM) of a Wafer Fabrication Equipment

Project Objective / Purpose (Introduction)

Project Description

Students will be attached to a Module and get to learn:
1. Overview of the wafer fabrication process

2. Purpose/function of the tool

3. Front-end and Back-end tool types

4. Parts of the tools

5. The importance of Preventive Maintenance (PM) for the tool

6. Controls used in the tool
- the parameters monitored
- the Statistical and PM systems

7. What is a statistical chart and setting of control limits to detect any tool drifts

8. Shadowing mentor to assist the works inside the Fab

Project Outcome

Students will gain experience in the semiconductor industry, demonstrate a good understanding of the equipment module and able to do a presentation of the learning outcome.

At the end of the internship, an overall report to summarize their learning experience with recommendations for improvement is required.

Required Qualifications:
Field of study in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
