**Production Shift Manager**

**Position Overview**

Four core roles and responsibilities of this position:

- Lead, motivate and guide a team of associates to manufacture finish goods for customers according to required specification and schedule. Key person to ensure: (a) Operations metrics are in place and improve over the years; (b) Achieve other company goals through collaboration with other departments.
- Ensure associates comply with company systems such as KORE, ISO, OSHA, GMP, 6S, OEE and implement new system as and when it is required.
- Associate development and performance management.
- Collaboration with Cross Functional Teams (QSE, Engineering, Planning and Commercialization) to achieve plant targets and objectives.

**Responsibilities**

**1. Manufacturing - Plan, Execution & Follow up**
- Develop, align and communicate clear goals
- Work and align with Leadership Team to develop clear annual goals and communicate to the team
- Conduct meetings / teambuilding to review the performance frequently.
- Lead the team to work closely with Master Planner and Production Scheduler to ensure the following:

- Ensure all shipments are met on time
- Deep understanding on production capacity & capability. Recognising future demands on the shift team and driving readiness to meet these needs
- Drive the team to work closely with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Commercialization and Engineering):

- Review and propose right resources and processes to improve production capacity or capability (OEE and PTS - Production To Schedule) as and when it is required.
- Troubleshoot high and unknown MUV and implement appropriate actions to prevent high variance from happening again.
- Review and close all audit compliances that include 6S, GMP, CAPA and others.
- Finalize process, plan and resources for new product trial / launch.
- Lead the team in Manufacturing Transformation Area such as Automation, Data Analytics and Digital Way of Working, leveraging on the support from supporting functions & senior stakeholders. Support and/or implement CAPEX projects when required.
- Lead the shift team, driving excellence in their work and continuously striving for improvements in working practices. Work with Sister Sites DWT team or relevant industries to benchmark and implement best practices
- Monitor production consumables usage & expenses according to allocated budget.

**2. Operations System Compliance**
- Nurture Right System mind-set (Safety First & Do It Right the First Time)
- Ensure associates are trained and able to use OEE methodology, SAP, MES and other systems that assist associate to excel in their job.
- Support EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives and achieve its goals:

- Ensure associates strictly follow EHS requirements (KORE, ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001).
- Support EHS to implement new EHS initiatives and requirements such as motivate team to be part of safety committee or first aider.
- Ensure quality systems are reinforced and strictly followed at all time:

- Ensure KORE, Quality System compliance.
- Ensure materials (ingredient and packaging), process and product specification are met before production.
- Ensure customer complaint is closed and corrective / preventive actions are communicated and implemented.

**3. People Development and Performance Management**
- Responsible for key people processes on shift e.g. talent reviews, disciplinaries, development for targeted individuals and other communications.
- (a) Review associates’ training needs, attendance and effectiveness from time to time. Ensure new employee is trained accordingly.
- (b) Provide guidance, coaching and supervision to any associates as and when required.

**4. Engineering and Maintenance Support & Collaboration**

Collaborate with Engineering Department on:

- Driving Automation and Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Equipment and Systems
- OEE improvements - Reduction of Breakdown / corrective / preventive maintenance
- Install, commission and validate new process / machine / manufacturing technology.
- Propose & implement Kaizen improvement initiatives to improve / comply with quality, EHS, MUV, cost/unit, 6S,
