**Purpose of Role**
- Marketing of ferrous and manganese scrap material for shipment by container exported out of North America (NAM), SA Recycling East and West locations, Sims UK and Sims ANZ.
- Maintain and develop alongside the existing team ferrous scrap markets for buying and selling of third party ferrous scrap material in a similar fashion to current Latin America (LAM) brokerage business.
- Manage assigned geographical inventory positions of GT container and LAM brokerage ferrous scrap.
- Assessing quality and weight claims if received from clients.
- Manage marketing and logistics team /office in Dominican Republic.
- Oversee logistic operations for contracted sales.
- Management and Maintenance of customer relationships
- Expand customer profile of GT container business to diversify sales opportunities.

**Principal Accountabilities**
- Daily discussions with GT team to understand current inventory, scrap flows, pricing and weekly sales requirements.
- Daily discussions with our Global agency office in Dominican Republic regarding suppliers current inventory, scrap flows, pricing and weekly scrap availability for purchase in, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Colombia, Trinidad, Cayman Islands and Panama (LAM).
- Daily discussions with various Global Trade agency offices regarding steel mill ferrous scrap inventories, competition ferrous scrap inventory, sales, bids, offers and the general material requirements of our clients.
- Gather information from global network of market participants regarding steel scrap market demand, steel mill and competition material inventory levels, competition offers, bids and current sales.
- Daily discussions with Global Trade Team to review our respective current market information.
- Based on various market reports from the Global Trade agency offices, discuss a strategy for offering tons into various global markets with ferrous sales team.
- Market material from SA Recycling, GT and LAM locations.
- Negotiate purchase prices with GT NAM and LAM suppliers/brokerage.
- Manage profit and loss sheet for GT brokerage purchases and global sales.
- Search and develop new scrap supplier/brokerage opportunities.
- Daily discussions on steel mill operational topics with Wen Bin, GT cargo inspector in Taiwan.
- Report on current steel production levels, on the ground inventories of local scrap, imported scrap from the competition and finished steel inventory levels.
- Assess weekly quality reports from SA Recycling and NAM cargos and competition cargos for our comparison.
- Advise SAR and NAM locations of new sales and contractual terms of the sales.
- Maintain GT container customer data base.
- Monitor NAM, SAR, LAM container shipment times to verify contracts are on schedule in order to plan for future purchases and sales.
- Work with the Global Trade operations department regarding financing and shipment times.
- Analyze the cost of the quality and weight claims received from clients to establish patterns and ultimate net price as this may differ from headline numbers.
- Discuss the quality claims with SA Recycling, GT and LAM to improve quality and lower claim costs where needed.
- Discuss any material safety concerns with SA Recycling, GT and LAM when needed.
- For each market, (i.e. Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh) update costs sheets daily with changes in freight costs, financing, claims, etc. to analyze which market is most profitable.
- Request freight costs through the Logistics team on current trade lanes or
- possible new markets.
- Work with Global Logistics Director’s regarding further monthly negotiations with shipping carriers on ocean freight costs where needed to get best possible freight rates and lower ocean freight costs to maximize profits.
- Monitor and document global steel scrap market developments to assess market trends.
- Read various publications to stay informed on global steel prices and market trends.

**Experience Required**
- 5+ years’ experience of steel scrap trading, detailed knowledge of all aspects of the business trading area.
- Thorough knowledge of how the international steel markets operate, with a detailed
