As a Business Development Manager (IP Transport), you will be responsible for Orders/Sales/Margin of NI's Optical Transport business in Singapore and Brunei markets.
- Responsible for Orders/Sales/Margin of NI's Optical Transport business in Singapore and Brunei market
- Customer engagement to influence business decision in favour of NOKIA from working level to high level management
- Supports Customer Account Team in the sales cycle providing timely and quality presales and commercial support
- Develops offers that are technical and commercially competitive
- Organizes product qualifications (e.g. Trial, BMT, Proof of Concept)
- Aligns and leverages support from all internal functions (e.g. PM, CE, Finance, RBC support teams) as per his/her business objectives and priorities
- Evaluates and develops business opportunities in collaboration with Sales team / Account Manager, typically at regional or sub-regional level.
- Supports sales opportunities through broad technical / system level expertise and internal / external business understanding.
- Contributes to the creation of customer network evolution plans, and competitively positions our technology strategy, solutions and products to address customer needs.
- Identifies short and longer-term solutions to address customer needs.
- Provides expertise on Optical solution architectures in the early phase of opportunity development typically on regional / country level.
- Addresses complex technical risks (EG solution roadmap availability) with mitigation plans and solutions which generate solid business impact.
- Contributes to the LoA process from technical perspective.
- Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes and services.
- Has in-depth organisational and relevant market knowledge and uses understanding on how relevant areas can be integrated to achieve objectives.
- Actively supports the bid team during offer development phases (EG solution description, Scope of Work (SoW), Bill of Quantity (BoQ), Statement of Compliance (SoC)), and often lead workteams and taskforce activities.
- May be requested to travel in Asia with travel taking around 5% of the time
**Your skills and experience**
You should have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to Telecommunications / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Experience: 10 years’ experience in telecom, with focus on Optical Transmission and related architectures, DWDM/OTN, Ethernet technologies
- 5 years’ experience in people and business management; documented track record in business development
- Specific knowledge: equipped with DWDM/OTN and Ethernet technologies knowledge; good understanding of transport network architectures; knowledge of Transport SDN concept and software defined networking
- Business understanding: knowledge of Transport market, technology trends, experience in both Pre-sales and Post-sales
- Works in non-core hours
- Communication. Excellent communication (verbal and written) in English is a must
- Computer Skill. Excellent skill in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point, Word) professionally
