Singapore Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) Full time

**What the role is**
- The jobholder would deliver communication capabilities and technologies to the Home Team. The jobholder is responsible for the system engineering aspects of various projects and trials within the Comms domain, identifying and evaluating technologies of interest to the Home Team. #LI-ZL1

**What you will be working on**
- Strong technical knowledge in transmission and IP transport technologies, including Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Carrier Ethernet, Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) and Service Orchestration, Network Slicing (NS). - Responsible for end-to-end design (including security) of Transmission and Transport to meet HTD’s operational needs, together with Cap sustainment. - Gather users’ requirements, conduct trials, obtain budget approval, writing technical specifications, perform tender evaluation, project management and vendor management of Applications Enablement projects. - Plan and project manage of new or existing transmission and transport networks, including technology selection, capacity planning, service rollout and service performance improvement, etc. - Plan near
- and long-term architecture evolution and capacity needs of Transmission network. - Articulate architectural differences between solution methods, challenges and approaches to integrating solutions built on different platforms. - Ensure system meets contractual system availability and incorporate life cycle cost (LCC) considerations and spares optimisation as part of the technical requirements. - Identify and study all the preliminary and critical design parameters, which can affect the operational and technical performance of the system. - Participate in acceptance tests like UAT, FAT, OSAT, SSAT and ensuring that the deliverables meet tender specifications. - Responsible for System Configuration Management. - Ensure delivered hardware and software has not reached end of support, ensuring proper system versioning and correct capturing of delivered assets. - Ensure vendor resolves system faults (hardware or software bugs) within contractual turnaround time. For new software fixes, perform regression test to ensure complete resolution of bugs, with no degradation in existing functions. - System upgrade and regression testing - Ensure project(s) delivery is (are) within project schedule and budget, project issues are timely resolved or escalate to management for attention. - Provide regular project updates to HTX management on project milestones, issues and expenditure. - Ensure projects are implemented based on approved project plan that meets users’ operational needs, within agreed project timeline and approved budget. - Identify potential project risks early, assess its implications to the organisation and project, recommend risk mitigating measures to minimise project delay. - Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver communications system. - Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so that the system is delivered according to contractual requirements. - Work with external agencies and/or Home Team Departments (HTDs). - Perform any other duties as assigned by HTX Senior Management or Deputy Dir.
