
Policy & Insights Manager - Asia Pacific

We’re currently looking for a **Policy & Insights (P&I) Manager - Asia Pacific **on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the global Policy and Insights (P&I) team and supports the markets in Asia Pacific, excluding Greater China and India, which are supported by separate teams.
**Job Purpose**:To demonstrate ACCA’s commitment to public interests, strengthen ACCA’s brand, reputation, and influence in Asia-Pacific.
This is done by supporting the [1] development and [2] sharing of thought leadership/research and policy content that is relevant to the accountancy profession in Asia-Pacific.
Thought leadership/research content refers to reports and other content produced on topics relevant to the accountancy profession. Key areas of focus include technology (e.g., Fintech, AI/ML, Blockchain), sustainability and climate change, corporate reporting, audit and assurance, and corporate governance/ risk management.
Policy content ACCA produces includes responses to consultations from regulatory or statutory bodies like ministries, local accounting bodies etc., related to topics relevant to the accountancy profession.
**The role**
Reporting to the Regional Lead - P&I for Asia Pacific, you will be involved in the following:
- Act as a bridge between P&I colleagues developing global reports/policy (Global Subject Matter Experts) and the needs of ACCA Asia-Pacific strategic/operational teams that lead the delivery of ACCA strategy in this region.
- Support Regional Lead - P&I in providing inputs to ACCA Global Policy Positions, bringing relevant regional perspectives to ensure policy positions are robust and globally relevant.
- Help ACCA Asia-Pacific strategic/operational teams use the outputs of P&I to drive key stakeholder relationships. Target audience for P&I content is typically one or more of the following: [a] Qualified accountants e.g., ACCA members [b] Government ministries relevant to ACCA’s priorities e.g., Education, Corporate Affairs, Finance [c] Senior (Board/CFO/Partner) level executives [d] Students considering accountancy career or those that are already pursuing ACCA qualificatio
- Working with P&I Global Subject Matter Experts, bring regional perspectives to global thought leadership/ research work, co-create content where appropriate, including by tapping on the expertise and insights of members and other key stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region. Typical scenarios may include: (1) Sourcing experts for a roundtable discussion to gather Asia-Pacific specific inputs to be shared with the author of global report, collaborating with marketing team to drive Asia-Pacific responses to global survey. (2) Sharing global reports in Asia
- Pacific conference/events; or preparing presentations for colleagues to share at key stakeholder meetings that are based on a global report but with relevant Asia-Pacific messaging.
- Spearhead or support the development of regional or local P&I content by: [a] Tailoring global thought leadership work to bring out the regional or local focus; or [b] Initiate and undertake regional or local thought leadership work.
- Support effective regional and local engagement activity to maximise the visibility, credibility and impact of ACCA policy positions and insights content. You are expected to deliver the content yourself or develop and share content for delivery by colleagues and ACCA advocates like ACCA members and other stakeholders.
**The person**
We’re looking for someone who possesses:
- An understanding of the accountancy profession, and global issues impacting the profession and business.
- Experience in key area(s) of likely focus (examples of which have been provided above) is highly desired, with ability/ interests to deepen knowledge in other selected policy area(s).
- Bachelor degree in any relevant fields (e.g. accountancy, economics, finance, law, policy, technology, sustainability).
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and who is also a strong team player, capable of operating at pace within a high-performing, globally distributed team.
- Professional accounting qualification or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Research, drafting and writing experience and/ or public policy experience is an added advantage.
