Singapore ASIAN VENTURE PHILANTHROPY NETWORK LIMITED Full time

**Director, Philanthropic Funds
**About AVPN**

AVPN is a unique funders’ network committed to building a vibrant and high-impact social investment community across Asia. AVPN’s mission is to catalyse the movement towards a more strategic, collaborative, and outcome-focused approach to social investing, ensuring that resources are deployed as effectively as possible to address key social challenges facing Asia today and in the future.

**About the Role**

AVPN is seeking a Product Director to lead AVPN’s Philanthropic Funds work. This role will be instrumental in strengthening the ecosystem to support funders in making strategic decisions in capital deployment, explore engagement opportunities with intermediaries, and equip impact organisations to access resources.

As head of the Philanthropic Funds, you will need to manage a series of single donor funds and pooled funds, leading the end-to-end process of grant management. This role is not just about ensuring that funds are deployed, but to build a momentum around the use of unrestricted funding in Asia, surface solutions that have fallen into the “missing middle” - too small for the big bets but require more than the 10,000s in order to grow sustainably.

You will work closely with our colleagues in the respective markets, across AVPN thematic platforms, the M&E, finance and compliance team to ensure excellence in how we develop the funds structure and governance. You will need to establish an understanding of the supply and demand landscapes, and translate them into effective connections. Through this work, you will gain valuable insights into the fast-growing social investment sector in Asia-Pacific.

This position will be based in Singapore and the individual will work with our diverse Capital Mobilisation team located throughout Asia. This role will report to the Chief of Capital Mobilisation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the end-to-end process of AVPN’s Philanthropic Funds
- Identify and pursue fund opportunities in alignment with AVPN priorities and develop grant-making strategies based on those factors
- Form partnerships with aligned funders and engage in ambassadorship with other funders
- Provide oversight to AVPN’s Philanthropic Funds work; direct improvements and enhance experience and efficiency for all parties involved
- Review the M&E reports on the funds
- Strengthen the enterprise/NPO pipeline
- Manage and lead the team to deliver on all project outcomes
- Work closely with colleagues from the other departments to roll out AVPN initiatives for our members

**Requirements**:

- At least 10 years of grantmaking, philanthropy, social finance or foundation experience.
- Exceptional organizational and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure outcomes are met
- Ability to coach, align, and lead a lean team to achieve deliverables.
- Ability to develop and sustain collaborative working relationships with diverse partners and stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in grant management on a regional basis
- Experience in gender or climate-related work is a plus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and methodical in managing multiple stakeholders and timelines.
