Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive philanthropic and fundraising strategy for our organization. This role will be responsible for managing grants, cultivating donor relationships, and identifying and collaborating with service delivery partners for joint fundraising and program implementation.

This strategic leader will oversee the establishment of a new department in a start-up-like environment; using agility, innovation, and strategic foresight to lay the groundwork for a robust and sustainable philanthropic function.

  • Strategic Leadership: developing and implementing a global fundraising and grant-making strategy aligned with our mission and strategic goals. Ensuring strong financial foresight and stewardship over philanthropic funds, including forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Donor Engagement and Fundraising: cultivating and managing relationships with major donors, foundations, multilateral agencies, and corporate partners. Developing compelling funding proposals and donor engagement strategies tailored to diverse donor profiles.
  • Partnership Development: identifying and engaging with service delivery partners (e.g., NGOs, education providers, government agencies) for joint fundraising and program implementation. Establishing strategic alliances to co-design and deliver impactful education programs in underserved regions.
Requirements and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have extensive professional experience and proven expertise in senior roles related to fundraising, donor relations, or philanthropic strategy. A deep understanding of donor landscapes, including foundations, bilateral/multilateral agencies, and corporate philanthropy is essential.

Ambitious candidates should possess excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strong financial acumen and familiarity with grant budgeting, compliance, and reporting are also required.
