**Position Summary**
- Provide support to the business, sales and investment teams in the Asia Pacific Region.
- Report regularly to the Head Office in Tokyo.
**Area of Responsibility**
1. Regional business development and governance
**Key Activities/Elements**
- Provide hands-on support in formulation and implementation of investment policies for each group company in respect of the life insurance premiums collected by each company.
- Formulate and monitor execution of business development plans for group companies in the Asia Pacific Region including capital policies, strategies for M & A and divestments, and report to Management of AP office for further reporting to Global Headquarters in Japan.
- Provide analysis of competitors in the life insurance business in the markets where the group companies are located.
- Propose improvements for agents and bank assurance sales and governance of group companies.
- Provide projections for sales and profits for the group companies.
- Lead collaboration between relevant functional teams across the group companies to co-ordinate cross-country life insurance strategic / business process to share best practices and enhance business knowledge and synergy among the group companies.
- Lead collaboration across the different departments within the Singapore company so as to provide support to coordinate cross-function life insurance strategic / business process to meet tight submission deadlines to the Head Office in Tokyo.
- Attend to the financial and regulatory concerns of each group company in the market in which they operate and update them to group companies.
**Area of Responsibility**
2. Monitoring and reporting to Head Office
**Key Activities/Elements**
- Communicate regularly with the Directors and Board of Directors of each group company on issues relating to sales planning and development and business reporting.
- Actively engage the functional teams in the Regional Headquarters in Singapore and in the group companies to collect, compile and deliver high-quality performance reports and financial analysis to the Head Office in Tokyo.
- Identify areas for improvements and further strengthen processes in the Asia Pacific Region.
- Prepare regular reports on group companies in the Asia Pacific Region to be submitted to the Head Office in Tokyo.
- Attend to regulatory issues relating to investments and business development in the Asia Pacific Region where the group companies are located.
**Job Requirements**
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management
Experience: Business management experience in life insurance companies
- Experience of working in a financial industry listed in world’s major stock market (New York, NASDAQ, Tokyo, Shanghai, Euronext, London) as Manager/Assistant Manager or above in the last 3 years, regularly overseeing its overseas subsidiary and reporting for management level meetings. At least 3 years of hands-on working experience of preparing reporting materials based on Japanese Companies Act as well as Insurance Business Act.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, banking, insurance, economics, financial services (including computational finance) or law.
- Working experience of corporate sales or corporate business development in insurance industry, analyzing investments and the financial indicators of a company such as company’s assets, product lines, regions, markets, regulations and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the different levels of market maturity and the needs of companies at different stages of development.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis and report writing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
