Business Analytics has been identified as a strategic enabler to Keppel Logistics’ growth strategy and key pillar of our digital transformation. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be one of the leading members of our Group’s Digital Transformation team that focuses on Digitalizing our Transportation and Logistics business, turning data into insights and actions.
- Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to understand problem statements, business requirements, structure, synthesize discussions & ideas into proper business visualization
- Derive business functional requirements specifications including the Reports, Graphical User Interface and Reporting and ensure proper documentation of the process
- Ensure proper documentation of process (eg. Business Functional requirements specifications) with proper approval from the business
- Establish the Project Organization by pulling the resources from the wider Pool of skills and assume the Project Manager role (based on the size of the Project)
- Work closely with the other Project team members like the Technical Lead (Software), Principal Data Analyst to define Technical Solution architectural (Software) design & infrastructure
- Perform exploratory data analysis using Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SAS, R, Python etc
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
- JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Computer Science, Knowledge Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Mathematics/Statistics, or related technical disciplines.
- Preferably with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in the Applications Development Areas, starting from Software Developer, Designer to Business Analyst/Project Manager (Technical) in Large Enterprise or in Software Development House or Systems Integrators
- Preferably with 3-5 years of experience in Digital Transformation Project in Transport and Logistics setting in a Regional or MNC organization
- Has proven track record of managing different business stakeholders in establishing the Business Functional Requirements and delivering the projects within the given timeline
- Proficient in language like Java, Python, R and SQL
- Agile Software Engineering & Project management skills along with a Certifications is highly preferred
- Logistics Domain knowledge is highly preferred
- Knowledgeable in statistics & AI/ML Algorithms is preferred but not a requirement
- Self-motivated and driven learner who is willing to share knowledge with the team
