**The Job**

Some of their responsibilities also include aligning engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, approving newly-developed policies from various departments, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Engineering will be directly reporting to a COO within Mighty Jaxx Leadership Team.

**Responsibilities**

Team Building
- Effectively scale the team by attracting and mentoring extraordinary people at various levels of experience to grow a well-balanced, high performing team
- Strong people management skills to lead and build a high-performing team
- Leading and working closely with other Engineers to develop the best technical design and strategy
- Proactively perform resource planning to achieve a smooth delivery of projects and get the hiring done on time with the help of MJ Talent Acquisition team
- Mentoring an excellent team of talented engineers and working with Engineering leadership to coach and upskill junior developers.
- Conducting performance reviews and defining each individual’s career paths to help developers grow within the organisation
Collaboration
- Collaboratively plan and deliver projects in cross-functional teams aligned to their business focus & priority
- Maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working as part of and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
- Experience in Product Management or collaborating with Product teams and Managers
- Project Management
- Owning the delivery of various timelines, ensuring that key milestones are met and deliveries are of the highest quality
- Work closely with the engineering partners to align and onboard the contractors on time to manage and achieve delivery targets
- Proactively monitor and manage the progress of the deliverables, identify risks and eliminate the roadblocks
Technical
- Providing technical guidance to engineering teams and top management
- Design and architectural experience in building various highly-scalable and highly-available cloud-based web apps
- Strong understanding of the SDLC Activities which include Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Post-Production Support
- Experience in MicroServices based development
- Experience working in an Agile environment, including practices like Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and Test-Driven Development
- Establishing various best practices for software development (eg. documentation, testing), and encouraging their adoption with the team and organisation
- Strategic
- Supporting established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies
- Participates in cross-functional team meetings to help establish business direction
- Leads Technology and Innovation effort and provide engineering support
**Requirements**:

- Degree / Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of hands-on coding experience, with a proven track record of handling complex engineering projects.
- 3+ years of relevant Engineering Management. Leadership Experience
- Experience in recruiting engineering talent and building out high-performing teams
- Experience in translating technical concepts into language for audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders
- Up-to-date knowledge of the industry
- Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication
- Backend: GoLang, Node.JS or similar stacks
- Frontend: Modern Javascript, React, Redux, HTML and CSS or similar stacks
- Mobile: Swift/Objective-C, Java/Kotlin or cross platform development such
