**Your future team**

The primary functions of the Property Policy Wording Specialist is to review manuscript proprietary and bespoke property policies and endorsements to ensure that the wording complies with AIG’s policy wording standards, reflects underwriting intent and is clear and unambiguous. They must work with Legal, Claims, CUO, Compliance and Regulatory to ensure that the policies and endorsements meet each of those departments’ requirements. They must work with Legal in drafting new AIG standard policies and endorsements, and coordinate underwriter training on policy and endorsement wording.

As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Drive coverage certainty by establishing and ensuring adherence to policy wording guidelines and review processes.
- Draft and finalize, and ensure underwriting intent is reflected in, clear and unambiguous policy and endorsement wording.
- Be the liaison between the CUO office and business managers, underwriters, AIG Claims and Legal in drafting and finalizing clear and unambiguous policy and endorsement wording.
- Identify the need for new AIG policy and endorsement forms, and work in conjunction with Legal in the development of those forms. Coordinate with Compliance and State Filings to support obtaining state approvals when necessary.
- Oversee the drafting of manuscript policies and endorsements that are based on other insurers’ standard policy forms, to address client-specific exposures.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating manuscript policy checklists to ensure that policy and endorsement reviews match AIG’s underwriting intent.
- Responsible for supporting updates to the Property Forms library.
- Provide and create training opportunities for AIG underwriting staff to help them better understand the importance of policy and endorsement wording. Contribute to Underwriting Bulletins and other communications to provide underwriters with direction and insight on policy and endorsement wording and usage.

**What we are looking for**:

- Drafting - Minimum of seven years of policy and endorsement wording drafting experience, preferably Property, or, alternatively, five years drafting experience and five years property underwriting experience
- Education - Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Management - Experience in successfully managing others and developing talent
- Teamwork - Experience in working well with other teams to successfully achieve stated goals
- Prioritizing - Proven ability to prioritize projects and respond promptly in appropriate manner
- Client Service - Ability to anticipate client (internal and external) needs and act proactively
