**Purpose of this role**:

- In the initiation stage of projects, develop a project charter and a preliminary project scope statement.
- Leads and directs the project planning effort ensuring that system requirements (product scope) are generated and divides the overall project into major work packages establishing agreement with ‘subsystem development managers’ and external suppliers, on the scope of these high-level deliverables.
- Through time and resource planning determine if the ‘required’ project end date can be met and create options that will make it possible, ensuring that a realistic schedule is arrived at.
- Develops the project budget and baseline, combining all estimates from development teams contributing to the project. Ensures that these estimates are derived from the estimates of the smaller components (activities) of the defined work packages.
- During the development of resource, cost, and time estimating within Subsystem teams, works in collaboration with Technical Leads (Subsystem and Integration) to establish agreed-upon options that will allow the overall project to meet the sponsors’ needs.
- Maintains control over the project by measuring performance and taking corrective or preventive action where appropriate. This includes monitoring the progress of Subsystem work packages through the Subsystem Technical Leads who are part of the project management team.
- Determines the communication needs of stakeholders, what needs to be communicated, when and by what method and how frequently. This includes status, risks, issues, delays, successes, scope changes, schedule, and project performance.
- Prepare & present at Project Gate meetings and update meetings per the practices of Project Lifecycle Management.
- Manages the storage and retention of all project-related “Controlled Documents” to ensure ISO conformance.
- Maintains the eTime resource management tool to allow project team members to charge to the appropriate project tasks and maintain a current resource forecast. Resource coordination with “resource” managers to ensure that no needed roles go unfilled.
- Develops a risk management plan and executes risk management processes, developing risk responses to eliminate or reduce the probability and impact of project risks. Ensures that contingency and fallback plans are in place if risk events are realized.
- Closing: Completes project closure activities including, gathering lessons learned, updating records, hands-off of project deliverables, releasing the team, and transitioning mutually agreed-upon issues to downstream acceptors (e.g. Current Product Development - CPD). The latter may involve migration of the project budget to address issues post-launch.
- Ensure compliance of operations within the area of concern with all relevant EHS regulatory requirements and SCIEX safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Other duties/ ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals
- Bachelor Degree/Masters in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in instrumentation or complex system design-related business.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Device Registration/Submission
- Relevant experience in Product Development and Sustaining preferred.
- PMP certification is an advantage.
