Senior Manager / Assistant Director (Legal)

In this role, you will:

- Provide legal support in procurement matters, including but not limited to review (and where applicable, negotiation) of related contracts and documentation to ensure that DSO’s interests are duly protected.
- Review and update relevant guidelines and policies with the stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review, advise, and (where applicable) negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, ranging from MOUs, NDAs, Master Contracts, Implementing Agreements, RCAs, IP and licensing agreements, novation agreements, etc.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend practical measures (in a timely manner) to address contractual and legal risks arising in relation to DSO’s business.
- Manage and advise on actual/potential disputes and contentious matters arising out of DSO’s business or operations.
- (Where necessary) Recommend, supervise and manage suitably skilled and reputable external counsel to represent DSO, so as to ensure that DSO obtains the best available value for money.
- Review and advise on a wide range of HR-related agreements (including in relation to employment, secondment, internship, sponsorship and scholarship) so as to ensure that such agreements comply with applicable laws and duly protect DSO’s interests.
- Review and work with stakeholders to continuously improve HR policies, processes and guidelines so as to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in and advise on investigations and inquiries relating to disciplinary and security matters, including advising senior management and Boards of Inquiry as required.
- Grow and maintain personal and departmental knowledge on relevant laws, regulations and legal trends.
- Inform (and where applicable, deliver training to) relevant stakeholders on the key legal risks and developments relating to their respective areas of responsibility.
- Advise on the legal structure and agreements relating to collaborations, joint ventures, partnerships and investments in local and/or overseas ventures.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend practical measures to address contractual and legal risks arising in relation to the above.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent
- 4 - 8 years’ aggregate Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)
- Minimum 2 years’ demonstrable experience in reviewing and advising on contractual and procurement matters
- Experience in IP, Tech, Manufacturing and/or R&D matters preferred but not essential.
- Experience in dealing with public sector contracts preferred but not essential.
- Self-starter with strong initiative, sense of responsibility and ethics.
