**Job Summary**:
The Senior Event Manager is a hybrid role in that it encompasses leadership, account management and operations delivery. This is no small task; it demands professional maturity, diverse event experience, superb relationship-building skills and compelling team dynamics.
The Senior Event Manager works on a variety of programs simultaneously and serves as the day-to-day planning contact for each respective client.
This position will be 100% dedicated to a global pharmaceutical customer so proven experience with internal and external meetings with Health Care Professionals is advantageous.
The Senior Event Manager is accountable but not limited to
- The development, planning and overall operational execution of complex meetings, high-level incentive programs and special events for customers.
- Day-to-day project planning functions, including but not confined to overseeing elements such as website development, attendee management and budget management.
- Where necessary, documentation of operating processes and ensuring adherence to customer compliance processes and regulations.
- Overall revenue management of every project; project reconciliation and final program billing; reporting of P&L to Finance and BCDME Management.

Overall:
- As the main point of contact with clients, provide a consultative approach to program planning, ensuring the client has identified clear objectives for the outcome of the meeting, event or program.
- Determine clear steps to ensure these objectives are achieved when planning the event.
- Selling in the solution to the customer/prospect as part of or leading the pitch team.
- Troubleshoot issues and propose solutions independently; where necessary, escalate issues to Client Account Manager and/or local/regional BCDME senior management.
Pre-Event:
- Conduct site inspections, serving as lead representative for suppliers and clients as required; follow up with site inspection takeaways, insights and recommendations, including updated estimated budgets, program itineraries and timelines.
- Negotiate and purchase ground transportation, technology, media and production (audiovisual), speaker bureaus, entertainment and décor elements via preferred Destination Management Companies and/or direct vendors.
Planning & Execution
- Plan and manage complex meetings, conferences, conventions or special events that could include large numbers of participants, multiple hotels and venues, multiple internal client staff, multiple client audiences and corresponding agendas, and on-site staff.
- Schedule, prepare and facilitate meetings with respective internal and external stakeholders to develop, coordinate and implement program agendas and itineraries for each assigned program.
- Lead the creative direction and overall development timeline of program web sites - this end-to end process from proof-reading to obtaining client approval.
- Leverage BCD Meetings & Events (and BCD Travel) preferred hotel partners/agreements, preferred Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and other preferred partners.
- Manage project P&L - review and approve project team budget management, drive project revenue.
- Onsite execution and management of event.
- Oversee program data management process, data integrity and reporting.
- Ensure data reconciliation is complete and accurate.
- Lead and facilitate post-event client debrief session/s.
Day-to-day:
- The Senior Event Manager will be accountable for understanding and effectively communicating all internal policies to team members (& clients).
- Train and coach team members; provide ongoing support to new team members; provide cross functional team training as necessary.
- Provide feedback when necessary to address challenges and increase service levels.
- Collaborate with other leaders to ensure consistency in delivery and service standards; support other team leaders as necessary.
- Work with leadership to address service challenges and monitor issue resolution.
- Escalate feedback/suggested changes and process improvements to leadership.
- Provide out of office back up for leadership as and when necessary.
