Apac Associate Manager Global Trade Controls

Johnson & Johnson International Singapore, part of Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is recruiting a Global Trade Controls Associate Manager reporting to the APAC Trade Controls Senior Manager.

Position Overview:
The Global Trade Controls Associate Manager plays a critical role in the future of trade compliance in J&J as we look to strengthen regional capabilities to drive efficiency, compliance, and functional maturity of the Trade Controls pillar. Be part of the team to design solutions that adapt to the ever-changing international trade environment.

**Responsibilities**:
TRADE CONTROLS:

- Monitor Industry trends: identify, evaluate and communicate legislation that could have legal, operational impact to Johnson & Johnson.
- Lead (or partner with Consultants where necessary) to evaluate special trade programs such as (Duties Drawbacks and Free Trade Agreements) that can improve financial position.
- Assess the state of compliance against applicable government regulations and internal standards through internal audits of local companies in Asia Pacific.
- Provide Global Trade Controls direction to Johnson & Johnson business function. They include support for government audits, general advisory and facilitating issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain an effective regional training program to improve trade Controls competency in local companies.

STRATEGIC:

- Lead the multiyear deployment of Global Trade Controls projects and initiatives within APAC.
- Perform reviews on internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance to government requirements and J&J policy, identify gaps and design process improvements.
- Conduct trade controls due diligence in Acquisitions & Divestiture
- Lead and participate in various Global and Regional Initiatives to support J&J Strategic Goals

LEADERSHIP:

- Global partnership to shape the direction of Trade Controls in Johnson & Johnson
- Cultivate external relationships to be updated with industry best practices.
- Challenge the status-quo; lead and adapt to change to serve our customers better.

Special Requirements:

- Provide advice and consulting insights on tariff classification matters, customs valuation, country of origin and best practices.
- Technical competency in Trade Facilitations programs (Special trade programs and compliance in APAC countries)

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor or master’s degree or the equivalent in experience (Supply Chain, Transport & Distribution, Logistics, International Studies, Legal, Economics, Financial)
- At least 5 to 8 years in Trade, Customs & Facilitation experience in a multi-national company
- Knowledge in customs regulations, including valuation, classification and special trade programs in Asia Pacific countries.
- Consulting experience in Healthcare industry highly preferred.
- Experience in implementing Asian Customs compliance program
- Able to work independently with attention to details.
- Track record in influencing a diverse range of stakeholders to shape a desired outcome.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
- Customer oriented and a pro-active attitude
