Overview

As a **DevOps & Automation Engineer,**you will develop automation playbooks, runbooks, and cookbooks to streamline tasks related to service delivery and operations. This role involves implementing automation use cases in production environments, including support for modifications and troubleshooting. You will also manage the automation platform to ensure high availability and seamless operational performance, execute and oversee automation playbooks as part of day-to-day operational activities and handle operational tasks related to both the automation processes and the underlying automation platform.

Additionally, the role requires hands-on expertise in scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, Chef, Groovy, and PowerShell, as well as experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps platform management, and cloud-based automation. You should be proactive, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a passion for automation and process optimization.

What will you do?

**Automation Development & Implementation**
- Build and maintain automation playbooks using technologies such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, Chef (Ruby), Groovy, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
- Operationalise and manage automation development initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Develop automated scripts to test automation playbooks before deployment to production environments.
- Possess strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), including code control and versioning best practices.

**Platform & Infrastructure Management**
- Familiarity with integration of automation solutions with external tools such as ITSM platforms.
- Ensure compliance with ITSM integration and other relevant system tools.

**Service Delivery & Operational Efficiency**
- Ensure process efficiency, automation stability, and system reliability.
- Drive continuous improvements through proactive automation development.
- Experience_
- _1-2 years of hands-on experience developing _**_IaC code development_**_ for automation in service delivery/operations._
- Proven hands-on experience in:_
- _Ansible, Terraform, and Chef platform setup, configuration, and management._
- _Code versioning, CI/CD, and automated testing._
- _DevOps platform setup and CI/CD pipeline deployment._
- _End-to-end implementation of IaC in managed services projects._
- Technical & Professional Skills_
- _Strong knowledge of _**_Linux/Unix/Windows Administration_**_._
- _Experience with automation/configuration management using _**_Puppet, Chef, or Ansible_**_._
- _Hands-on experience with _**_PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MySQL_**_._
- _Proficiency in _**_source code control, versioning, and automation tool integration_**_._
- _Some knowledge in developing playbooks using _**_RPA tools_**_._
- _Certifications in DevOps or automation tools (preferred)._
- Non-Technical / Soft Skills_
- _Strong _**_problem-solving skills_**_ and attention to detail._
- _Passion for _**_programming and automation_**_, with a proactive approach to process improvements._
- _Good understanding of _**_systems, networking, and software development lifecycle_**_._

- Qualifications_
- _Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field._
- _Hands-on experience in developing _**_Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)_**_ using scripting languages such as _**_Ansible, Python, Chef (Ruby), Terraform (HCL), Groovy, PowerShell, or Bash_**_._
