DESIGNATION : Manager (8-month contract), Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Global Innovation Immersion (GII) Programme
- Execute market penetration strategies for GII markets including engaging potential partners for the internship programme
- Visit prospective employers to promote the GII programme and at the same time evaluate appropriateness and relevance of the internship opportunities
- Source and manage external partners, such as local & overseas IHLs, overseas incubators and accelerators, mentors, trainers, relevant logistics partners (e.g. visa agents)
- Implement student recruitment and outreach strategies
- Plan and conduct events such as information sessions, bootcamps, mentorship, networking and pre-departure briefings
- Overall consolidation and management of programme budget and ensure compliance with the funding agency guidelines
- Monitor, review and analyze the performance of the GII programme regularly for management reporting, ensuring tight management of milestones and progress of the programme
- Partnership Development in China for Internships and Summer Programmes
- Establish external networks relevant to IIE strategic plans and to use these channels to identify potential strategic partnership
- Work with ecosystem partners, universities and other professional bodies to identify opportunities for growing IIE’s programmes and maximizing avenues for partnerships
- Develop and implement proposals for Summer Programmes, where necessary
- Student Clubs Management
- Oversee, mentor and guide student leaders in the areas of club governance and finance to establish credible student-led clubs in SMU
- Provide institutional support and nurture student leaders through out-of-the-classroom programmes / event / activities
- Supervise and coordinate programmes / events / activities budgets and workplans of the student clubs
- Maintain statistical and financial related records/transactions of the student club activities
- Oversee, mentor and guide the selection process for student clubs’ executive committee, and participate in student clubs’ board meetings.
- Monitor, review and analyze the performance of the student clubs regularly for management reporting, ensuring tight management of milestones and progress of the student clubs
- Provide administrative and financial support when the student clubs tap on SMU or IIE’s resources

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in areas such as Business, Marketing or related fields
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Effective communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented and team-oriented with a strong desire to be successful
- Able to think creatively and problem-solve in high pressure situations
- Strong work ethic as well as a dedicated and positive attitude
- A keen sense of ownership and accountability and act with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
- Think beyond own area of responsibility examining linkages and interactions between different parts of a system
- Diligent and outcome driven
- Strong knowledge of budget, grant administration and financial management principles
- Up-to-date with industry trends in the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system
- Prior experience working in a startup, or knowledge in innovation and entrepreneurship will be viewed favorably
