- Providing technical and administrative support to the Facultative Broking Team in the preparation of placement slips & endorsements during the placement process, and to work on allocated tasks and projects as directed in order to facilitate the business operations.
- Understand the environment in which Ed operates in.
- Understand the workings of the company and each of its functions, as well as the market that which the business operates in.
**Main Responsibilities**:
Placement Process:
- To use appropriate class of business knowledge to produce, within the timelines set, clear and accurate documents and wordings within TradEd system, as per both client’s and reinsurers’ requirements, and adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal compliance/standard operating procedures as may be set from time to time.
- Preparation and ensuring completeness of underwriting information received from clients.
Post Placement Process:
- Tracking of premium payment deadlines and initiating pro-active actions where required.
- Coordinate with Technical Processing, Finance and Claims teams to ensure achievement of the following:
1. Credit/Debit notes are processed and sent out to reinsurers within the timeline.
2. Premium and Claims receivables are collected from cedants and reinsurers within the timeline.
3. Handling of queries from clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders (Technical Admin, Finance, and Claims).
4. Manage TradEd database, and help drive and encourage adoption of it throughout Ed, and to ensure that tracking is completed promptly to reflect the status of any risk.
5. Maintain up-to-date filing/e-filing, and ensure documents are saved and files are passed on to the others in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.
6. Evaluate workflow system and policy status and report on a regular basis.
- Learn the broking, account opening, KYC procedures including systems.
- Facilitate KYC compliance checks as relevant.
- To ensure sound business practices and an adequate and pro-active risk control framework within the team and work within the authority.
- Manage and undertake assigned work to time scales as directed.
**Client Service**:
- Understand the (Re)insurance cover of each client and provide pro-active service to expedite the production of placement slips, liaising between all parties and actively chasing information.
- Escalate any potential problems to senior brokers and account executives.
**Representing Ed**:
- Champion the Ed name and core values.
- Represent Ed with clients, agents, suppliers and other organisations.
**Compliance**:
- Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and Ed & Group compliance requirements,
E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
- Escalation of any potential E&O's to Division Head / Directors and senior managers at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.
**Knowledge Required**:
- Good understanding and knowledge of general (re)insurance and relevant legal principles.
- Good understanding of the Company’s internal procedures and practices.
- Certification in General Insurance (CGI) or any equivalent professional qualification as required.
**Essentials**:
- Diploma holder or equivalent.
- Preferably with 1 year of broking support experience in a (Re)insurance Broking firm.
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision.
- Collaborative team working approach.
- Ability to work with employees at all organisational levels.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point) & Outlook.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $2,400.00 - $2,700.00 per month
