Job summary

As we grow our business, the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) International team is seeking to hire a Government Transformation Advisor, responsible for supporting AWS’ government transformation engagements with public sector customers in the APJ Region.

They will have a knowledge of modern digital transformation approaches and techniques and will have managed delivery of transformation programs at scale either in government or as part of a professional services organisation supporting government.

The role will entail working with the Regional GTT Director and AWS teams and partners to help customers understand and solve operational problems using modern digital and cloud based solutions. This will require the ability to plan and facilitate engagement projects with customers and drive these to a successful conclusion for the customer. The Government Transformation Advisor will help government and other public service leaders accelerate their modernization and reform programs.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Helping operational leaders in public service accelerate their modernization and reform programs.
- Supporting public service organizations in their approaches to digital government
- Supporting establishing and delivering in partnership with leading business schools in the region - the Executive Education program in Government Transformation.
- Identifying and developing government-specific services to accelerate business transformation
- Evangelizing cloud computing at the C-suite level and contribute to driving user adoption and engagement
- Program management and delivery of follow up programs to develop new and grow existing business
- Building strong, long-term relationships across public sector organizations in the APJ geography and wider WWPS engagements

Travel required in this role is 40-50%

Key job responsibilities

Work with our customers to help them accelerate their modernization and reform programs. You will evangelize successful approaches to transformation. This can include lecturing as faculty on the GovExecEd program, building, collaborating and publishing rich educational content becoming the trusted adviser to our C Level customers in multiple countries.

Working closely with our digital leaders, this role will also include program management and delivery of follow-up and the curation and development of further customer engagements.

About the team

The Government Transformation Team (GTT) helps our customers accelerate their reform and modernisation programs. We work with executive and operational leaders in public service and at the core of the team are former public service executives who have led nation-scale digital transformation.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Articulates to senior level public sector stakeholders the value proposition of transformation and an inspiring vision for change, creating opportunities to develop markets and customers
- Open data implementation experience
- Wardley Mapping (or similar value chain/situational awareness mapping) experience
- Deep technical knowledge
- Significant international leadership experience
- Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives
